Shalimar, the very first amber perfume created by Jacques Guerlain, celebrates its 100th anniversary. To mark this exceptional occasion, Maison Guerlain unveils Shalimar L'Essence, a new intense variation that concentrates the signature elements of Shalimar: the quintessence. A tribute to the timeless modernity, boldness, and seductiveness of Guerlain's most famous women's fragrance.
Shalimar L'Essence is more than a perfume: it is a declaration of love. A declaration of love bearing the signature of Delphine Jelk, Director of Perfume Creation and Perfumer at Guerlain, to the most emblematic note of the iconic perfume, the cornerstone of the fragrance: vanilla. Delphine Jelk has added the precious vanilla tincture from Madagascar, inspired by Guerlain's traditional savoir-faire, to the ethyl vanillin from Jacques Guerlain's original formula, giving Shalimar a new intensity without compromising its signature.
A discreet, subtle touch of bergamot illuminates the floral heart, in which rose absolute is combined with the powdery elegance of iris. Little by little, the amber note of Shalimar unfolds, more intense than ever. Generous vanilla notes give the amber fragrance new facets – soft, woody, a hint of leather.
Guerlain gives a new twist to the logo of its iconic bottle for Shalimar L'Essence. A nod to the Art Deco style, the artistic movement from Shalimar's era. The letters form a bold graphic ensemble in a gold hue reminiscent of the perfume itself. The design of the Shalimar L'Essence bottle is firmly rooted in the history of Shalimar, yet unmistakably contemporary: a bridge between timelessness and the future.
